Are you a property owner in Dubai? The Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), part of the Dubai Land Department (DLD), is inviting you to take an active role in shaping your residential community by registering for owners committees. This initiative aligns with Dubai’s commitment to transparency, sustainability, and efficient management of jointly owned properties.
What Are Owners Committees?
Owners committees are a cornerstone of community empowerment. They enable property owners to actively participate in managing their residential communities, enhancing the quality of life for everyone. By promoting transparency and collaboration, these committees help ensure that decisions reflect the best interests of all residents.
According to Mohammed Ali Al Badwawi, acting CEO of RERA, automating the registration process has made it easier for property owners to join these committees. “Owners committees play a critical role in fostering real estate sustainability by reviewing budgets, prioritizing maintenance, and providing valuable feedback on service plans. They are more than just management tools—they are a platform for collaboration and community engagement,” he stated.
Why Join an Owners Committee?
By becoming a member, you gain the opportunity to:
- Influence important decisions within your community.
- Help manage budgets, maintenance priorities, and shared facilities.
- Safeguard your investment through active participation in property management.
- Promote a sense of collaboration and well-being among residents.
Mohammed Al Dah, Director of the Jointly Owned Properties Management Department at RERA, emphasized that joining these committees empowers property owners to make meaningful contributions. “These committees ensure efficiency and transparency while safeguarding investments. We encourage all eligible property owners to seize this opportunity,” he said.
