In a significant move to enhance the quality of life for Emirati citizens, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved a series of housing projects worth AED5.4 billion ($1.5 billion). These initiatives aim to provide 3,004 new homes across Dubai, catering to a variety of needs and ensuring stability for families.

New Housing Developments Across Dubai

The ambitious plan will deliver homes in several areas of the city. Specifically:

  • Latifa City will see 1,181 new homes for those receiving housing loans.
  • For citizens benefiting from housing grants, new homes will be built in:
    • Al Yalayis 5: 606 homes
    • Wadi Al Amardi: 432 homes
    • Al Awir 1: 398 homes
    • Hatta (Makan area): 200 homes
    • Oud Al Muteena: 120 homes
    • Rural areas of Dubai: 67 homes

This broad distribution ensures that Emiratis across the city and its outskirts benefit from the initiative, offering diverse housing options tailored to their needs.

A Vision for Thriving Communities

These projects are part of the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme, spearheaded by Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed. The program focuses on creating a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle for Emirati families. It aims to promote community values, foster social cohesion, and support work-life balance, all while enhancing overall family wellbeing.

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the importance of citizen welfare in shaping the UAE’s development. He emphasized, “Housing programs for citizens represent a top priority. We are committed to ensuring that our people enjoy the highest living standards and all the support they need for a stable, prosperous life.”

He also pointed out that people are the backbone of the nation’s success and the foundation of its global achievements.

Building a Better Future

The newly approved housing projects align with Dubai’s comprehensive vision to support the aspirations of its citizens. Sheikh Mohammed reiterated that such initiatives are part of a long-term plan to ensure stability and prosperity for all Emiratis. This vision is tied to the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which focuses on sustainable growth, optimal use of land, and creating integrated communities.

The housing projects will include green spaces, recreational facilities, and commercial centers to offer a vibrant, inclusive environment for residents.

Citizen-Focused Urban Planning

His Excellency Omar Hamad Bu Shehab, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, shared that these projects are designed to meet the future needs of Emirati families. With a focus on innovative urban planning and safety, these developments aim to deliver high-quality residential experiences.

He said, “We are implementing these plans with the future in mind, using the best standards to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of our citizens for the next 20 years.”

By prioritizing sustainability, diverse housing options, and integrated community features, Dubai continues to pave the way for a brighter future for its citizens.
